A fun day was had by all on Saturday September 3rd at Mala Wharf in
beautiful down town Lahaina. With approximately 75 contestants we started
the day with clean head high waves. The winds cooperated for the most part
during the long day at the beach and we even got a nice glass off for the
finals in the late afternoon. The competition was stiff this year with
Kalei Kahahani dominating the contest with multiple 10's in every heat. But
when it was said and done the final line up was Mark Anderson/first - Kalei
Kahahani/second - Buz Moffett/third - Albert Jenks/fourth - Pete
Peterson/fifth and Boy Ah Hee /Sixth. Thanks so much to Kimos and TS
restaurants for putting on the contest as well as all our great judges and
volunteers for making it happen - it is a great tradition that will go on
for years to come. My only question is will I ever win the friken thing?
